'In Your Own Words' Poetry Launch, including an Open Mic session
To Launch this quarterly creative outlet our first session will start at 5.00pm with a workshop from Melbourne born Peter Bakowski who's aim as a poet, is to write clear and accessible poems, to use ordinary words to say extraordinary things.
Peter's poems have appeared and continue to appear in literary magazines worldwide and have been translated into Arabic, Bahasa-Indonesion, Bengali, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Mandarin and Polish.
In the workshop Peter will dispense as much practical information as possible mixed in with the reading of some poems leaving you with a lot to think about and to consider.
A 15 minute break with tea/coffee and treats will follow at 5.45pm then continuing from 6.00pm for an hour of Open Mic with two minute intervals for your own personal expression.
If you wish to read something during the Open Mic Session please also book an "I wish to read at the Open Mic Session" ticket to ensure your poetic expressions are given a two minute time slot.
Book yourself in, learn some great tips and tricks from Peter Bakowski then read something you wrote, something that inspired you or support others with their own expressions of words.
